The passing of IEA President Al Llorens is an immeasurable loss, and the members of the Illinois Education Association Staff Organization are keenly aware of how much we, as IEA staff, owe to Al and his leadership of this great union. Al’s commitment to the labor movement and to the union values that guide us was a model and an inspiration. In the fight for a better world, Al treated the staff as real partners. The mutual respect and trust we shared will never be forgotten by IEASO, and we grieve greatly that his time as our leader was cut short. We extend our condolences to his family and promise to continue to honor Al through our best work, moving the union he loved forward every day.
